When Children are exposed to books they learn the following 7 concepts:


1. Books are for enjoyment
2. To turn pages in the right direction.
3. The correct way to hold a book, that there is a front and a back end to a book.
4. That print carries a message
5. That the pictures link to the message being read.
6. Where to begin reading a page.
7. That print moves left to right and top to bottom

As you read to your child use a lot of expression so the child becomes captivated and excited about the events. It will help keep your child engaged.
